Privacy Policy

CrewDex stores all data — contacts, tags, notes, and ratings — locally on your device, in a database that belongs to the app. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or transmitted to us or to any third party. We operate no servers and collect no analytics.

Because there is no server, there is no account to create, no password to manage, and no copy of your directory anywhere but your phone.

With your permission, CrewDex reads your device contacts solely to copy names, phone numbers, email addresses, and photos that you choose to import into your on-device crew directory. Your device address book is never modified.

Granting contacts permission is optional. Contacts can be added manually instead, and the app works fully without ever being granted access.

When you share a contact card, only that contact's name, role, location, phone number, and email address are included. This applies both to the plain-text card and to the .vcf contact file.

Private fields: star ratings, notes, specialty tags, and personal tags are never included in shared output under any circumstances.

Sharing happens through your device's own share sheet. Where the card goes after that is governed by whichever app you send it with, not by CrewDex.

CrewDex Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. Apple handles the free trial, the billing, and the renewals.

We never see or receive your payment details. The app asks Apple's own on-device purchase system a single question: whether this Apple ID currently holds an active subscription — and stores only that yes-or-no answer, along with the date it was checked, on your device. No purchase information is sent to us.

The subscription is $0.99 per month and auto-renews monthly until you cancel, following a 7-day free trial. After the trial, an active subscription is what opens the app; there is no reduced free tier beneath it. You can view or cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account's subscriptions.

Use of the subscription is governed by Apple's standard Terms of Use (EULA).

There are none. CrewDex contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and no third-party framework that reports on how you use the app. Nothing you do inside CrewDex is measured or transmitted, and no data is used to track you across other apps or websites.

CrewDex is a professional tool intended for adults working in film and television. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone — of any age — because it does not collect information at all.

Deleting the app deletes all of its data. There is no server-side copy to request and nothing for us to erase on your behalf, because nothing ever left your phone.

If CrewDex ever adds a feature that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the change will be called out in the App Store release notes.
